ARaymond India delivers quality with a silver lining

BAL presented ARaymond India with a BAVA Q Award (Bajaj Auto Vendors Association Quality Supplier Award - In Silver Category) at the recent convention conducted by BAL & BAVA committee.

As part of an ongoing initiative to improve the productivity and sustainability of its supply chain, BAL assesses the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices of its Tier I and II vendors. A panel of experts evaluates the TPM performance of vendors against improvement targets set on a yearly basis, scoring them on the cost efficiency and eco-friendliness of their operations and processes. The top-performing vendors are then awarded Silver, Gold or Platinum awards based on the points they have accumulated during the previous 12 months.

Manish Padharia, Managing Director of ARaymond India, said: “This is the first time that ARaymond India has received a Quality Supplier Award from Bajaj. It was a great honor to be presented with this award at the BAVA convention in presence of all vendors”.

“Next year our goal is to go one step further and win an award in the Gold category.”

BAL, one of ARaymond India’s biggest customers, manufactures motorcycles, scooters, auto-rickshaws and, most recently, cars. It is the world’s largest three-wheeler manufacturer and India’s largest exporter of motorcycles. Bajaj motorcycles and vehicles are sold in more than 50 countries across the globe.

BAL’s manufacturing plants procure more than 70 per cent of parts locally and ARaymond India is a preferred supplier of automotive fasteners and quick connectors. ARaymond India is one of 137 vendors who are members of BAVA, which was established by BAL to disseminate best practice on quality, workplace management, logistics, health and safety, and environmental conservation.

Mr Padharia added: “BAL is a key strategic account for ARaymond India and over the years our business with them has grown as they have grown. “We have a very good relationship with BAL’s design and production teams. We work together as partners on a number of long-term initiatives designed to improve quality and efficiency.”
