Overcome assembly challenges with added-value automotive bonding solutions
All ARaymond™ bonding solutions are custom-developed to help you respond to emerging automotive trends like new lightweight materials that are difficult to weld or drill and subject to corrosion when used with other materials. Driverless cars with a large number of safety-critical sensors require reliable, traceable bonding processes. With the emergence of the Factory of the Future (FoF), automated processes will increase, and ARaymond can provide the appropriate specialized bonding equipment.
ARaymond™ invisible bonded fastening solutions can expand vehicle design possibilities and help manufacturers move their vehicles upmarket, one of today’s key trends.
ARaymond brings 20 years of experience developing fastening solutions for glazing applications and offers a full range of high-performance bonded-fastener solutions engineered for all interior and exterior automotive glass surfaces, from windshields and rear windows to sunroofs and side glass.

ARaymond™ bonding solutions are ideal for automotive glass, offering a flexible solution leveraging solid adhesive tablets or beads for a clean, drip-free working environment. Fast curing improves logistics on the shop floor by eliminating the need to move and store curing stock and bonding can be completed on or off the assembly line before or after autoclaving.
Lightweight materials—carbon fiber reinforced polymer, strengthened steel, aluminum, and magnesium alloys—are steadily making their way into today’s cars. With these new materials come new assembly challenges. ARaymond™ bonding solutions are ideal for assembling add-on elements onto lightweight structural components without compromising or altering the structural integrity of these next-generation materials. Our bonding solutions ensure watertightness and eliminate corrosion at the interface between two incompatible materials. Thanks to quick curing the bonded fasteners can be mounted from a variety of positions (horizontal, vertical, inverted).
Our bonding solutions eliminate corrosion at the interface between two incompatible materials. The fasteners are watertight and without drill holes, doing away with leaks. They are also easy to mount from a variety of positions (horizontal, vertical, inverted).

Bonding add-on elements on body-in-black
Whether it is for a luxury automobile, race car, prototype, or concept car, ARaymond is poised to provide high-end solutions that respond to the most stringent specifications.
For example, ARaymond can bond hundreds of studs to a carbon fiber reinforced polymer car body to fasten cables, heatshields, under body streamlining, hydraulic tubing, and more. Our fast-curing adhesive means that studs can be bonded in any position, even on vertical and inverted surfaces.
Bonding trim onto car body components must respond to two requirements: strength and aesthetics. ARaymond has developed an ingenious solution that meets both: bonded clips are directly pre-mounted on the trim, which can then be easily mounted onto the car body.
ARaymond™ bonding solutions also allow more flexibility in the design of trim for pillars, roofs, doors, appliqués, spoilers, bumpers, and fenders. This ready-to-assemble and invisible solution offers a perfect A-surface. And, because it is compact, packaging and shipping are more efficient and cost effective.

Supporting advanced engineering projects
ARaymond bonding solutions go far beyond standard applications. As your innovation partner, ARaymond can work with you to engineer innovative bonding concepts from selecting the adhesive and designing the clip to developing and implementing the manufacturing and assembly processes right in your plant.
Bonding on a carbon fiber floor for the Renault Eolab
ARaymond™ was selected as a partner on the Renault Eolab lightweight concept car project. Because the floor panel was made of carbon fiber, fasteners could not be welded as they would be on a traditional steel floor. ARaymond came up with a bonded solution using its proprietary fast-curing adhesive. Rapidly after the fastener has been bonded, a load can be applied to it so that assembly can continue right away. ARaymond also scaled-up the process for easy integration into Renault’s current manufacturing processes.
Supporting customers at every stage of their project
ARaymond has developed the SCA™ (Systematic and Collaborative Architecture) Methodology to ensure that you receive a complete, high-performance bonding solution that meets your unique needs. Our Bonding Solutions Architects leverage advanced tools and expertise to bring you a bonding solution you can trust for total peace of mind.
Broad, deep engineering know-how
ARaymond draws upon know-how in chemical, mechanical, and industrial engineering to design, develop, and implement complete automotive bonding solutions for OEMs, Tiers, and glassmakers. Our expertise encompasses our proprietary patented adhesives, processes, and equipment. From adhesives to turnkey bonding units on your production line, you can count on ARaymond for end-to-end solutions and service.
Our experts formulate and produce TechBond™PUR, a range of thermoreactive polyurethane adhesives offering unique properties.

Excellent structural performance
TechBond™PUR is suitable for bonding parts that are subjected to constant or heavy strain (performance > 10 MPa after aging*).
*Tension and shear, TechBond™ adhesive on glass – Internal test, results available upon request
Immediate hold and very fast curing
With TechBond™PUR, there is no curing stock to move or manage. Assembly and/or quality control is possible after just a few minutes and enables online bonding as well as bonding on vertical or inverted surfaces.
Clean, precise, and easy to implement in the plant
Our adhesive comes in solid tablet or bead form and is dry to the touch and inactive at ambient temperature. It allows for custom dosing and easy automation with mechanical distribution.
Environment, health and safety
Our adhesives comply with REACH regulations on the safe handling of adhesives (EC. No.1907/2006-REACH), are formulated without diisocyanate monomers, and are solvent-free (0% VOC according to the European directive 99/13 of March 11, 1999).

To meet our customers’ needs for reliable turnkey bonding solutions, we go beyond adhesives formulation.
Our chemical and mechanical engineers work together to come up with bonding solutions that include not only our solid and dry adhesives, but also bonding equipment, manual or automatic, as well as various service supports to make sure all process steps are under control; from predictive analysis and dedicated customer training to surface treatment and remote maintenance.
The Pick&Bond™ bonding process requires two specific machines that can be used to bond parts of any shape: a machine to heat the part that is to be bonded, and another one to mechanically dispense exactly the amount of adhesive required.
This compact, reliable equipment is easy to integrate into your manufacturing environment and is flexible enough to allow different parts to be bonded using the same equipment. All bonding parameters are fully controlled for a guaranteed reliable, repeatable bonding process.

Pearl Dosing Device
The patented Pearl Dosing Device (PDD) guarantees precise positioning of TechBond™PUR adhesive pearls for automated bonding processes.
PDD, new to the ARaymond™ bonding solutions lineup, is a fully-automated piece of equipment designed by our engineering team to take the benefits of our Pick&Bond™ process to new levels: Pearls dosing takes less than 5 seconds for throughput of millions of parts per year and adapts to any part shape.
The tool insert is specifically designed to correspond to part geometry by adjusting the position of the pearls.

A wide range of bonded fasteners
ARaymond™ bonding solutions are the perfect complement to ARaymond’s long-standing expertise engineering and manufacturing automotive fasteners. ARaymond™ bonding solutions are complete assembly solutions combining a high-performance adhesive with a broad range of ready-to-bond fasteners. Choose from standard and custom-engineered solutions to meet your unique needs.
