July 9, 2010 – A. Raymond Tinnerman Automotive Inc. held their first innovation day at Toyota Technical Center on June 22nd, 2010 in York Township, MI and an additional show at Toyota Boshoku on June 24th, 2010 in Novi, MI.

Both events were a large success bringing in over 220 engineers and purchasing managers. These innovation days provided an opportunity to proudly display and showcase the vast array of products in the A Raymond Tinnerman portfolio.
Specific product lines presented were closure systems, electrical fastening, engineered plastics and metal fastening solutions.

Additionally, A Raymond Tinnerman proposed 8 major cost saving ideas specific to Toyota applications. They ranged from interior trim clips, grab handle and sun visor trim clips and airbag clamps.

Jim Murphy, Business Unit Manager for A. Raymond Tinnerman Automotive said, “this event was a tremendous success and allowed us not only to showcase our incredible engineering capabilites, but also to engage face-to-face with a strategic customer.”

Sample parts along with detailed posters displayed some core competencies. These  included chassis and frame fastening solutions, HVAC/Climate control, console and glove box mechanisms, instrument panel fastening solutions, fuel and brake line attachments and door panel fastening solutions.

A few of the key products that gained Toyota’s interest included the grab handle clip, anti-chuck striker and the full-rotational double pipe clip.

Andreas Locke and Hans Lesser provided a demonstration of the RAYTOOL gun while the A. Raymond Tinnerman advanced engineering team displayed their air bag canister clamp assembly.

A key factor to the success of these shows included the support of many individuals. Members of the executive team, along with the sales and engineering departments allowed this show to be a great success.

“It was definitely a team effort from the sales and engineering departments to pull off this event and I’m proud to see the results of the show. Many Toyota engineers and purchasing managers displayed a vast interest in our core products and capabilities,” said Michael Delfin, Vice President of A. Raymond Tinnerman Automotive.
